I have a need and I am making a broad appeal.
Many of you know Shelia (the crazy camera lady) who has taken more snap shots in the last seven years at New Heights than shots taken in the entire states of Wyoming and Nebraska combined. Anyway, she will be busy working elsewhere Sunday afternoon and I need someone or a couple of someones who have digital camera to take some shots of the baptisms at 2:00 pm at Farmington First Baptist Church. If someone would volunteer please let me know. This is not a paid position nor is it a means of getting a job as a paparazzi. But it does have it's rewards. You will be my friend for life and I will extend the friendship beyond our time on Earth if you'll help me out. We have 5 awaiting baptism at this time.

Rocky
1. Time change tonight. Please set your clocks ahead (forward) one hour as you head to bed.

2. I thought the Oswald Chambers devo was very insightful.

"God does not turn us into spiritual agents but into spiritual messengers, and the message must be a part of us. The Son of God was His own message— “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” John 6:63 As His disciples, our lives must be a holy example of the reality of our message. Even the natural heart of the unsaved will serve if called upon to do so, but it takes a heart broken by conviction of sin, baptized by the Holy Spirit, and crushed into submission to God’s purpose to make a person’s life a holy example of God’s message.

Rocky

Joe Hagan and Levi Vandiver, Haley Franklin, Haley Roberts, Jaden McBride, this is a start. Hannah Good from MU. Who else?
2. Read the Bible for Life. Some may read this title and think it is about reading the Bible the whole time some one is on Earth. However, I like to think of it so that "FOR LIFE" means to receive and to experience all that life can offer as God defines, planned and purposed for you and for me.
3. I want to thank Denny Franklin for designing, painting and putting together the new coat hooks in the preschool area. I want to thank Jeff Barnes for mounting the coat racks in the lobby and in the preschool areas.
4.
1. We had a great number of people with many new folks in our midst this morning. So many new faces to greet and new names to learn. Hopefully, I'll get the new names with the right new faces. Again, the needs are many among those who attend New Heights. Please be mindful of the homeless who visit our church, yes, the homeless! Those needing encouragement, those who have "secret" aches and pains, physically and relationally. These are two reason it is so vital to Read Your Bible for Life, Spiritually healthy people have just enough faith to reach out, to greet and to even invest a kind word, a helping hand, or live an example to follow. Take seriously the role of influencing others and letting God use you to impact others in a mighty way.
2. BAPTISM next Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm at Farmington First Baptist Church, 210 North A Street, We have several awaiting to be baptized. Last weekend one young man prayed to accept Christ before church in my office. This morning a young lady did, then just minutes before worship was to begin another, a young man this time, prayed a tearful prayer of surrender inviting Jesus into his life. NHC needs to show up to celebrate this ordinance of the church.
3. COURAGEOUS the movie, a 2nd showing at NHC on Saturday March 24, 7:15 pm.
4. C-2 Spiritual Habits to be More Like Jesus. There are five habits spiritually maturing believers practice to be more like Jesus. This course is divided into 2 sessions. Part 1 will be Sunday, March 11, 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Part 2 will be Sunday, March 18, 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Let me know if you can and will participate in this study. We have some signed up and we need a few more to make the course more fun and meaningful.

Rocky

Today. What about today? It is so easy to feel like my emotions are riding on a roller coaster. Hardly anything surprises me anymore, I guess I'm just getting old. I mean, older. However, I am surprised at myself, when it comes to emotions. I'm somewhat startled to realize how little it takes to get my emotions to spiraling downward. I can go from "Good Morning America" emotionally to "Home Alone". And in reality: God, family and friends are just as close, just as near and just as dear as any other point in my journey through life. So why are my emotions all over the place? My emotions are vulnerable to unexplained swings because feelings are swayed easily by internal perceptions and external stimuli. I see something that is dangerous; I feel tense, This is an example of external stimulus. So my reaction is sometimes fear, which can lead to anger at myself or others, or it leads me to go deeper into a shell of fear. Internal stimuli such as the thoughts I entertain, dwell upon and replay will sometimes generates a world of fear or euphoria. I tend to be a optimist which could be interpreted as "imaginative living" but faith is my reality and it protects me from going down so fast I crash and keeps me from staying down on the roller coaster. One needs a BIG God in this roller coaster world of which we live and survive. My emotions today just won't let me use the word "thrive" but most days I feel as if I'm thriving! Might I suggest that faith is the stabilizing gift from God so we can enjoy the ride in "up" times and "down" because regardless of where your emotions are right now, living by faith is the greatest adventure. Watch for God at work because I've found God in the lowest points and I've gloried in His presence at the top.
Pray for others today, it is great to pray for them in faith to a BIG GOD! It is good to focus on something beyond yourself. Believe in a GOOD GOD, who will do GOOD, pray to this GOOD GOD who had done GOOD, is doing GOOD and always will do GOOD!

Read the Bible for Life - Nehemiah 9:32 "And now, our God, the great and mighty and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of unfailing love, do not let all the hardships we have suffered seem insignificant to you.

Rocky
